Craol is running short courses over the coming months, leading to a “FETAC Level 6 Train the Trainer Qualification”. Details on how to to register staff/senior volunteers for the qualication have been circulated to station managers and the closing date is July 18th. Based on the date and location preferences of those registering up to 4 courses will be run nationwide.

Many stations are looking to develop their training capacity, so as to act as training centres. This strategy diversifies income streams, acts as a way to recruit more volunteers, fulfils funders’ expectations of the station, and provides a mechanism to engage with, and benefit the community served.

Member stations were recently circulated with a Briefing Document on how stations can build their training capacity and the sources of support and funding.

Craol is a registered FETAC Training Provider. This means that stations can deliver courses locally through station-based, Craol-registered trainers, with all of the headaches associated with course development and quality assurance dealt with by Craol. Craol provides lesson plans, handouts, learner registration forms, assessment briefs & marking schemes along with verification, authentication, and certification (through FETAC).
