Community Radio Feile 2012 - Athlone 26th-27th May

Athlone Community Radio are hosting this years Community Radio Féile in Athlone on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th of May. Combining this years event with the Chairs and Managers Event traditionally held in October, along with the expansion of the sector to 24 stations means that this years Féile will be the biggest event ever.

The Feile will see nearly 20 workshops and sessions on every aspect of Community Radio from recording radio drama, to effective volunteer participation, community involvement in Sound and Vision to dealing with conflict. 

The event is structured with 5 streams and fully licenced stations will be invited to send one participant for each stream. 

The five workshop/session streams are 

  1. Community
  2. Technical
  3. Programming
  4. Management
  5. Governance

There is no charge for workshops to fully licenced stations who are up to date with the Craol membership subscription. Accomodations and meals are also provided free of charge though stations must meet their own travel costs.

For Aspriant Stations (those not operating a multi-year licence) who are members of Craol,  participation in workshops is free, and  accommodation and travel costs must be met by the  station. Aspirant stations who have run or sucessful applied for a 100-day licence may send 3 delegates and those who are operating a 30 day may send 2 delegate and those who are seeking to run a first licence may send 1 delegate. A special aspirant workshop will also be held as part of Féile. 

The event dinner will also see the presentation of the 2012 Craol Achievement Awards.
