Overview of the range of Craol supports available to Aspirant Members

Here are just some of the supports that Craol has available to groups developing their community radio station:

 “Putting down roots – An Aspirant Handbook” is a critical resource in planning programming, governance structures and preparing a licence application.  It is available to all associate members.

Access to Accredited Training – CRAOL can offer accredited FETAC Training (Level 4 in Community Radio) to groups starting out through it’s network of qualified trainers who operate a standard training programme tailored to your stations situation – contact fetac@craol.ie.   As your station develops, CRAOL can train your station trainers to deliver training in-house also.

The CRAOL Development Ladder can help an new aspirant group take ‘baby’ steps towards realising their ambitions.
Each of the Aspirant Associate Membership Categories have got different membership entitlements. Entitlements/supports are based on maintaining a fully paid yearly subscription.They include participation in CRAOL events, access to resources, best practice guides and station visits/participation in public meetings.

Participation in CRAOL Group Insurance Scheme. Massive discounts are available to stations operating a one-year licence.

The CRAOL helpline is there to answer questions based on the experience of stations who have gone through the process themselves.

Copies of licence applications, funding applications, policies, procedures are all available through the helpline to members.
