On June 8th 2007, the CRAOL AGM formally adopted the CRAOL Strategic Plan 2008-2009. The plan was developed through a consultation process with all members. The resultant grouped the future activities of the network under five headings
1. Training (Skills Development)
2. Communication (Station Development)
3. Advocacy (Sector Development)
4. Networking (Network Development)
5. Governance (Implementation, Evaluation, & Administration)
At the Forum Meeting of the 9th November 2007, it was agreed that future network operations would be aligned with these activity areas including the rationalisation of sub-groups within the network. Accordingly, the activities presented for 2008 were grouped by these five activities, and the structure continued to be further maintained.
The strategic areas also provided the structure for facilitated inputs at the Double Forum meeting in Athlone in October 2008 which laid out a vision for 2013 and the identification of practical steps to achieve these in 2009 and 2010.
CRAOL has recently engaged PMG Consulting to facilitate the creation of the strategic plan to 2012 and to review the delivery and finances of the organization to ensure the sustainability of the organization to 2010.
CRAOL has already created/is in the process of creating strategic planning documents for Cross Border Co-operation, Aspirant Development, Legislative desired outcomes and Media Literacy. See CRAOL initiatives under ‘About’ for more on these areas.
