The bulk of CRAOLs funding comes from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland's Training & Development fund. This vital support makes a massive difference when it comes to the development of the Community Radio sector in Ireland. It makes possible once off investments (such as this website) as well as ongoing skills development and station supports.
CRAOL must produce a draft Activity plan for the BAI by the end of October. This is then negotiated with the BCI’s Training & Development Officer and changes made before approval in November/early December.
The one–year plan is drawn up by CRAOL Co-ordinating Committee, facilitated by the Development Advisor. This clearly stating what the network aims to achieve in the areas of Training and Development in the following year. This plan outlines proposed activities along with their context, costs, perceived impact of activity, timeframes and details of by whom and how each activity will be achieved.
CRAOL also had to develop an application to the Wheel for funding under its training links programme.
The co-ordinating Committee of CRAOL creates and agrees a breakdown of expenditure across all categories/activities in January of each year and reports against this quarterly.
